Current Collection - Made From Stars

This is a collection of paintings that began in a state of flow.  I didn't have an initial idea, they just naturally evolved.  I began with layers of paint in a variety of colours and only stopped adding more colour, pattern and texture when the time felt right. These animal portraits all became so dark that I decided to create a cosmic, starry scene from them.   All of the central figures appear as transparent forms made from stars.  I feel that they symbolise the connection we have to the universe and everything in it.  They hint at the energy we all have inside that shines a light through modern life's darkness, chaos and confusion.  They remind the viewer that we are all the same, we are all made from stars.
